Does enjoying time in the woods really turn you on? Come show your forests some public love..through action!!
Lolo National Forest’s land management plan is currently under revision, and the decisions that are made today will impact how our government tends to our public lands for the next 25 years. The previous forest management plan was adopted in 1986 (38 years ago!) and contains ZERO mention of fungi, a whole kingdom that is integral to the health of our forests. What if we had forest management policies that drew upon the intelligence of fungi and symbiotically worked with them to retain water, grow soil, and promote biodiversity? You can help make this happen!!
Come learn how you can advocate for public land management practices that work symbiotically with fungi to improve ecological outcomes in the forests that we are all so fortunate to enjoy. We’ll learn the broader strokes of how our forests have been managed, what could be improved, what services fungi provide and why they are inextricably entwined with the health of our forests, and what we can do to ensure that their ecological gifts are considered in the upcoming land management plan.
Though this conversation is fungally focused, anyone who loves the forest will benefit from this conversation and learn how to shape the future of our home. Reciprocity in action is a beautiful thing. Let’s blow a big, affectionate, political kiss to the wilderness we all love!
Bring a dish to share and a friend and we’ll be the voice for those not represented at the table!
